Latest Update on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III Reveal, Gameplay and Open Beta Dates

When Activision held its Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III reveal event last week, it showed glimpses of the game’s single-player campaign and confirmed that those who pre-order the game will get early access to the yet-to-be-dated open beta. Now is the time to learn a lot more about both of these things.

Geoff Keighley continued the tradition of showing gameplay from the next Call of Duty at Gamescom, so tonight’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III video consists of gameplay from the game’s first mission, Operation 627. It turns out that this is a very inspired mission of The Gulag in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, so it starts off pretty stealthily before getting really loud.

Keighley then revealed that we will know a lot more about the game when Call of Duty: Next takes place on October 5th. Finally, we’ve also received confirmation that PlayStation players will be able to test the multiplayer when the first open beta takes place from October 8th to 10th (early access starts on October 6th). PC and Xbox owners will then be able to participate in the open beta a week later, from October 14th to 16th (early access starts on October 12th along with all PlayStation owners).
