According to Miami police, he and his wife allegedly had an argument that escalated, and the golfer allegedly threw his wife into the wall.
The 43-year-old was then taken to a detention center, but was later released on bail.

It all started when the golfer, who has played on the PGA Tour off and on since 2012, and his wife got into an argument at their Miami home.

According to Miami police via Golf Digest his wife allegedly started filming the incident with her phone, where Compton allegedly took the phone and threw it into the pool.
He then grabbed his wife and threw her into the wall. His wife then left the scene and called the police.
Arrested
The golfer was arrested at his home by the police and taken to a nearby detention center, but was released after a while on bail. In custody, he also allegedly refused to talk before his lawyer appeared.
Eric Compton has played a total of 168 events on the PGA Tour, but never won. This year, the 43-year-old has only played two events, missing the cut on both occasions. His best result came in 2014 when he finished tied for second at the US Open.
