The general, despite the dismissal, was left at the disposal of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Alexey Venediktov notes.
Commander-in-Chief of the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation Sergei Surovikin was fired from his post. This was announced on Tuesday, August 22, by Russian journalist Alexei Venediktov on his Telegram channel, citing a relevant order.
“Surovikin – dismiss the commander of the PKS,” the journalist quotes the text of the document in his message.
However, the military was left at the disposal of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the order says.
The journalist did not provide further details.
Recall that earlier the American media stated that Sergei Surovikin was a secret member of the private military company Wagner. He was part of a circle of high-ranking Russian military men who were VIP members of Yevgeny Prigozhin’s company.
