Italian singer Toto Cutugno has died at the age of 80. The singer won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1990 with the song Together: 1992.
Cutugno’s manager reports to the Italian news agency ANSA that the singer “had taken a turn for the worse in recent months after a long illness”. Further details about the singer’s illness were not shared.
Italy won the Eurovision Song Contest for the second time with Cutugno. The third and last win for Italy was with the band Maneskin in 2021.
Born in Fosdinovo, Cutugno is one of the most successful Italian artists with more than 100 million albums sold.
