Yesterday (Monday), the First High Criminal Court set a session for next September 12 to rule in the case of an Arab woman (30 years old) accused of assaulting two security personnel, who tried to provide her with assistance after her car was involved in a traffic accident.

The defendant’s representative, Attorney Aisha Janahi, said during yesterday’s session that work is being done to correct the situation of the accused by renewing the legal residence permit issued by the General Directorate of Nationality, Passports and Residence, which qualifies her to reside in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

During the last session, the court decided to join a supplementary referral order for a case against the accused to be linked and to issue a single ruling, and the charge that was added is that on July 14, force and violence were used with two public officials, namely chief sergeants (two), with the intention of unjustly causing them to abstain from doing one of their job duties, and they did not In this way, she reached her destination, and the accused denied the charge.

The court had begun hearing the case on August 1, and the accused denied the indictment against her and decided that she was defending herself, and that the two victims were the ones who assaulted her, and that she had consumed intoxicating substances without her knowledge. The Public Prosecution directed the accused that she had assaulted the safety of the body of two members of the security forces (chief officers) during and because of the performance of their duties, and the act of assault did not lead to their illness or inability to carry out their personal work for a period of more than twenty days. Because of their performance of their duties, she also deliberately destroyed movables owned by the Ministry, as well as was found drunk in a public place and caused disturbance to the comfort of others, in addition to that she did not renew the legal residence permit issued by the General Directorate of Nationality, Passports and Residence, which qualifies her to reside in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
