Coach Crowley’s choices for the World Cup which kicks off on 8 September in France
Outside Alongi, Mori and Lucchin, inside all 4 scrum-halfs. Coach Kieran Crowley has chosen the squad for the World Cup scheduled from 8 September to 28 October in France. A two-week delay, compared to the programmes, caused by the many injuries suffered in the test match against Ireland. Remain out of the 33, compared to the last races, Filippo Alongi, Enrico Lucchi and Federico Mori. “It wasn’t easy to choose the thirty-three players called up for the Rugby World Cup and all the players who took part in the preparation worked in the best way possible – said Kieran Crowley -. Making decisions is our job and our responsibility and that’s what we did by selecting what we believe to be the best Italy possible”.
Only 9 of the 33 Azzurri called up have already taken part in the World Cup, the record for participation is held by Tommaso Allan, in his third World Cup.
