A house on the Oude Bemmerstraat in Beek en Donk was destroyed by fire on Monday evening. The fire was discovered around eleven o’clock.
When firefighters arrived, flames were already shooting out of the house and a lot of smoke was being released.
Stuffy
The residents – a family with children according to Broadcaster Peelrand – were at home when the fire broke out. They were able to get away in time, but a few were short of breath because of the smoke. They were checked by paramedics.
The fire brigade had the fire under control around 12:30 in the evening. The house is uninhabitable after the fire. The Salvage Foundation will arrange temporary shelter for the residents. Neighbors also had to spend the night elsewhere.
Candle
A candle is believed to have started the fire. As far as is known, no one was injured. The fire attracted a lot of attention.
