Ex president United States of America, Donald Trumpannounced that he would turn himself in on Thursday (24/8) to undergo trial on a number of charges in Georgia.

“I’m going to Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday to be detained by the Radical Left District Attorney, Fani Willis,” Trump said via Truth Social, Monday (21/8).

Willis is the district attorney for the Fulton area. Last week, he dropped a series of charges against Georgia’s 2020 election fraud.

“Following those charges, as is normal process under Georgia law, the jury issued arrest warrants for those charged,” Willis said at the time, as quoted CNN.

“I am giving the defendants the opportunity to voluntarily surrender by Friday, August 25, noon.”

In the Georgia indictment, Trump and 18 other people are accused of “conspiring to unlawfully alter the results” of the 2020 election.

The Fulton County Court charged Trump with 13 counts, including racketeering charges, for allegedly trying to change the election results in Georgia.

In addition, Trump was also charged with six counts of conspiring with several others to fake Georgia voters.

This is the fourth in a series of charges Trump has faced this year. The Republican presidential candidate has pleaded not guilty to all charges handed down in the various states.
