Driver Strikes Several Pedestrians in Busy Manhattan Area

NEW YORK — A driver allegedly struck several pedestrians Sunday night in a busy area of ​​Manhattan just blocks from Times Square, New York City Police said.

The accident occurred just before midnight at the corner of 36th Street and Sixth Avenue when the driver, identified as 29-year-old Imani Lucas, would have run a red light and run over 7 people with a Honda Accord, added the authorities.

Among the injured there is a 34-year-old woman and 6 men with ages ranging from 24 to 61 years, according to the uniformed. None of the injuries are considered critical, according to police, but one of the victims who sustained serious injuries was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, police said.
