Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo Advances to Second Round in 2023 BWF World Championships

KOMPAS.com – Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo has qualified for the second round of the 2023 BWF World Championships after recording a two straight game victory over Nathan Tang.

The 2023 BWF World Championships starts today, Monday (21/8/2023), in Copenhagen, Denmark.

One of the Indonesian representatives who appeared on the first day of the 2023 BWF World Championships was the men’s singles Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo.

In the first round or the top 64 of the 2023 World Championship, Chico met Australian men’s singles, Nathan Tang.

The Chico vs Nathan Tang match was held at Field 4 of the Royal Arena, Copenhagen.

In terms of ranking, Chico (ranked 21st) is far superior to Nathan Tang who is currently ranked 114th in the world.

Playing confidently from the start, Chico was able to take a 11-2 lead over Nathan Tang during the first game interval.

Not having much trouble, Chico won the first game with a score of 21-9 in nine minutes.

After the interval, Chico did not waste a chance. He kept going and finished Nathan Tang’s resistance in the second game with a score of 21-7 while securing victory in this match.

Chico needed 22 minutes to win in two straight games over Nathan Tang with a score of 21-7, 21-7.

The results of the 2023 BWF World Championships made Chico advance to the second round or the top 32.
