Locals Take Matters Into Their Own Hands to Fix Potholes in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: When the government got tired of waiting to fix the country, the locals themselves came forward to fix the country. He took a loan of two lakh rupees and closed the pothole on the road. The incident took place in East Bengaluru. As the accidents continued, when the authorities did not listen to the demands of the locals to repair the road, they did everything themselves.

On Sunday, the people have taken a decision not to pay house tax in the campaign “If there is no development, there is no tax”. Last week, the families who had a meeting in this regard collected money to fill six kilometers of potholes in Halanayakahalli, Muneswara Chuthasandra.

32-year-old Techi, the founder of the group, took a loan of Rs 3.7 lakh for this purpose. A few days ago there were two accidents on Hosa road. He also says that a young woman near his apartment was injured. This was an accident when the auto they were traveling in fell into the gutter.

A delivery agent also met with an accident on the same road. This was on August 14. While traveling at night, the vehicle swerved to avoid falling into a ditch and crashed into an oncoming car. His leg was broken in the accident. He was a native of Mandya and was the head of a family of nine.

This is why he decided to form a group of like-minded people. Five years ago, they formed a civic committee. All those present decided to fill the pothole on the road. Tekki says that he took the loan after saving the money but it was soon over. Despite several requests to the people’s representatives to repair the road, there was no response.

He says that politicians care about another thing and they see where they live as a place where other states live. That is why a campaign like tax boycott was started. Without development, there is no tax. He also says that it started as a hashtag on Twitter.
