The British TV movie comes from 2011 and now knows its way to Netflix. Definitely watch it if you like a good thriller or add it to your watch list.

Cast

In Page Eight we see Bill Nighy, Rachel Weisz, Tom Hughes, Michael Gambon, Ralph Fiennes, Judy Davis, Rakhee Thakrar and Saskia Reeves, among others.

MI-5

Johnny Worricker has been an MI5 agent most of his life. When his boss and best friend Benedictus Baron suddenly dies, he leaves behind an inexplicable file that threatens the stability of the organization.

Johnny’s neighbor Nancy Piepan is a political activist and she seems to know more about this. Johnny has to step outside of office to find out what she’s up to.

Dry fare or perfect film?

The film does well at IMDb with a 6.8/10. At MovieMeter the film scores 3.1 /5 and opinions differ widely. Viewer Anister says about the film. “Discontinued early; what a dry fare. I’m not even going to start the other two films of the Worricker trilogy.”

Viewer BlueJadaskiss disagrees, stating, “Rarely perfect movie that left me breathless watching – and I’m not a big fan of spy movies. Cast, music, camera, editing, pace, plot, dialogue: it’s all perfect and I got a very wide grin from this. Many times more fascinating and better than the needlessly boring Tinker Tailor re-make.”

On Netflix

Despite the different opinions, the film has managed to occupy a spot in the Netflix Top 10 for several days now. Look at the movie at the streamer.
