Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – General Chair of the Democratic National Party (Nasdem), Surya Paloh commented on the support of the Golongan Karya Party (Golkar) and the National Mandate Party (PAN) which support the prospective 2024 Indonesian presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto.
He said that the alignment of the two parties is a good thing to exercise constitutional rights.
“Very good, very good,” he told reporters when met at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, quoted on Sunday (20/8/2023). “More and more everyone joins in carrying out their obligations and exercising constitutional rights,” he added.
Previously, PAN and Golkar had declared their support for Prabowo at the Menteng Proclamation Building, Jakarta, Sunday (13/8/2023). Also attending were Golkar chairman Airlangga Hartarto, PAN chairman Zulkifli Hasan and PKB chairman Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin.
Separately, Secretary General Ahmad Muzani said that PAN and Golkar considered Prabowo to have a vision and mission that unites and takes Indonesia in a better direction.
“That can raise dignity, social justice, and can eradicate poverty,” he said.
Muzani also denied that there was Jokowi’s blessing regarding the support of PAN and Golkar.
“Pak Jokowi said earlier, there are no village heads, who is the village head. So don’t get the lurah involved, don’t involve the president because this is the realm of political parties,” he said.
