The tents in front of the Monument to the Soviet Army remain under increased security. This was stated by the “Vazrazhdane” party after the monument was attacked by football fans.
The four detainees have already been released, 2 pre-trial proceedings have been opened for the attack, bTV has learned.
Representatives of “Vazrazhdane” have met with the Minister of Internal Affairs, who has assured that the police presence at the monument will be increased. The party is adamant that they will continue to protect the monument.
“We see that there is tension on one side and on the other, but let’s not allow violence to be the tool to solve this issue. There are legal procedures,” said Deyan Nikolov, the MP from Vazrazhdane.
According to the party, the fans were organized and dispatched.
“As soon as they came with a big “Dismantling” banner, it was organized. “No one goes to a football match and then comes here,” Nikolov pointed out.
After the National Club of “Levski” supporters appealed to the leader of the “Vazrazhdane” party yesterday with a warning that being called janissaries is not good for his political career and health, today the political force commented as follows:
“This is a direct threat to the chairman of the third largest political party in Bulgaria. I don’t want to put all Levski fans under a common denominator, because from yesterday to today we have received hundreds of messages in which supporters of the team distinguish themselves from the actions of these 20 or 30 people,” said Deyan Nikolov.
Rebuilding of the broken plate has already begun.
