In connection with the bullying case, the Ministry of Health has given punishment in the form of a warning to three hospitals under the Ministry of Health. The three hospitals are Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, Hasan Sadikin Hospital, and Adam Malik Hospital.

The form of bullying that occurs in the hospital environment is in the form of asking for fees outside of the educational needs of specialist doctors to providing hours of guard with a duration that is considered unreasonable.

Dr. Azhar also asked victims not to be afraid to report if they experienced or saw acts of bullying.

“In the future we will continue to expand the reporting channel to make it easier for students or anyone who feels bullied while in the ministry of health or education hospital to continue to report to us,” said Dr. Azhar in a press conference, Thursday (18/8/2023).

Furthermore, he ensures that victims who want to report bullying will not receive punishment from the agency.

The Beginning of Bullying Revealed: Starting with a Viral Video on Tiktok

Indonesian Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin explained, the findings of this bullying case started from a viral video showing a health worker providing services roughly to patients. After being investigated, it was discovered that the health worker was experiencing stress due to the workload she experienced while studying at the hospital.

“There is a tick about at the hospital in Adam Malik, that there are doctors who provide very bad and rude services to patients,” said Minister of Health Budi at the same event.

“After we checked, it turned out that the person in question was a specialist medical student who was then stressed because he was getting treatment and also working hours that were very far outside the normal range,” he continued.

Minister of Health Budi said that finally his party held discussions with many doctors participating in specialist education. It was revealed that almost 100 percent of the participants in the discussion experienced something similar.
