Senegalese Alleged Perpetrators of Vandalism at the Consulate General of Senegal in New York: New York police Search Warrant Launched

The New York police yesterday launched a search warrant involving Senegalese alleged perpetrators of acts of vandalism that occurred at the Consulate General of Senegal in New York on August 4th.

Among the suspects identified, activist Ousmane Tounkara, famous on social networks, reacted yesterday to SunuAfrik radio. Taken up by Les Echos, he insisted that he and his lawyers are waiting “with firm feet” for an arrest by the police.

In this wake, he affirmed that he did not cross the doors of the Consulate on the day of the demonstrations organized by the Pastef section of the USA following the arrest of the opponent Ousmane Sonko and the dissolution of the party.

As a reminder, threatened with expulsion, Ousmane Tounkara was arrested in the United States on March 15, 2021, following a complaint from the State of Senegal for “terrorism and death threats”. The activist was accused of having called for the burning of the houses of authorities during violent demonstrations in Senegal. Tounkara had finally won his case.
