Emergency services were called out on Saturday evening after a cyclist was found injured on the road in Kinn municipality in Sunnfjord.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the next of kin have been notified.
The accident appears to be a traffic accident in which only the man on an ordinary tricycle was involved, the police write in a press release.
So far, there is no indication that other vehicles or road users were involved in the accident.
– There is no suspicion of hit-and-run or that there are others involved. It simply looks like a fall from the bicycle that has caused damage, says incident leader Roar Bøe of the police in Sunnfjord.
The police are still keeping all possibilities open, and are opening a case. The case is being investigated further by local police to find out the cause of the accident, if possible.
The deceased was a man in his 50s and lived in Oslo.
It was a random passerby who found the man on a road with little traffic in an area with scattered residential areas, according to the report BT.
