Free Attractions in Central Park: Delacort Theater and The Little Island – Plan Your Visit Today!

Central Park is not only one of the most famous and visited parks in the world, and an ideal place to exercise used by many New Yorkers.

It is also a space that offers cultural attractions and entertainment for the whole family.

One of those attractions is the Delacort Theater, where works by authors from all over the world are presented and this summer, as has been the custom for decades, the cultural organization “The Public Theater” develops the 61st season of “SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK SEASON”, with works by English playwright William Shakespeare.

The play “Hamlet” was recently finished and soon lovers of good theater will be able to enjoy the play “The Tempest” or “La Tempestad” for a full week, from Sunday August 27 to Sunday September 3, completely free.

Getting to the Delacort Theater is very easy. You can enter Central Park from 81st Street with Central Park West, or from 79th Street with Fifth Avenue.

Another attraction for the whole family and also free is “The Little Island”, which opened to the public in May 2021.

Little Island is open from 6 am to 1 am and offers a space filled with grass, colorful shrubs and trees. And a secret garden.

Admission is free, but if you want to visit the park after noon, you must make a reservation first.

The easiest way to get there is by using the subway. You can take the A, C, E, L trains to the 14th Street and Eighth Avenue station.

1, 2, 3 trains to 14th Street and Seventh Avenue, and the F and M trains to the 14th Street and Sixth Avenue stop.

Get out of the house and enjoy with your family and friends the free attractions of your city.

It is a healthy and fun way to spend your free time.
