President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky Visits Sweden to Thank for Support Against Russian Aggression: $313.5 Million Military Aid Package Announced

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, is visiting Sweden today. The head of state said he was in the Scandinavian country for a meeting with Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, the royal family and other high-ranking government officials to thank them for supporting Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression that began nearly 18 months ago and at a time when the Ukrainian counteroffensive is entering its third month, reported Reuters, quoted by BTA.

“Our primary task is the strengthening of Ukrainian fighters on the ground and in the air, the development of bilateral cooperation, in particular in the defense industry, the European integration of Ukraine and common security in the Euro-Atlantic space,” Zelensky wrote in Telegram, announcing his visit .
Last week, Swedish Defense Minister Paul Jonsson said his country was planning a new $313.5 million military aid package for Ukraine, which would mainly include ammunition and spare parts for weapons systems already delivered.

This will be the 13th package of Swedish aid to Kiev since the beginning of the war. With it, the total value of what was delivered by Stockholm, which included tanks and air defense systems, will amount to more than 1.8 billion dollars.
