Samsung announced the Freestyle Gen 2 projector with Gaming Hub capabilities, which comes as the second version of the first generation of the projector that was launched last year.
Apparently, as long as you have a stable internet connection and space to view content, you can stream content or play thousands of games anywhere you see fit.
Samsung Gaming Hub supports Xbox Game Pass, Nvidia GeForce NOW, Amazon Luna, Utomik, Antstream Arcade and Blacknut game streaming platforms.
The Freestyle 2 projector is also compatible with a wide range of Bluetooth controllers and comes with increased memory for a smoother experience.
You also get Samsung’s SolarCell remote control that uses sunlight to recharge its battery. And you can also recharge it via USB-C.
The rest of the spec list is identical to the first-generation Freestyle from last year. The projector will come with a size of 30 to 100 inches and a resolution of 1080 pixels. There is also support for HDR10+ and a contrast ratio of 100,000:1.
You also get 360-degree sound with a 5-watt speaker system, Tizen OS, and Bixby voice assistant. I/O is limited to one Micro HDMI port and one USB-C port.
The great thing about the Freestyle 2 is that you can simply point it at the wall and the projector will automatically adjust the content output so there’s no need to fumble with alignment or manual keystone correction.
The Freestyle Gen 2 is pre-ordered for $800 from Samsung US Store. Shipments are expected to begin on September 1.
