Devastating Human Toll in Ukraine-Russia Conflict: 300,000 Casualties and Counting

According to the media, the invasion of Ukraine by Russia would have caused 300,000 victims in the ranks of the Russian army, including 120,000 dead. On the Ukrainian side, the ‘New York Times’ estimates that the conflict has caused 190,000 victims in the army, including 70,000 dead.

The number of military casualties has risen sharply since the start of the Ukrainian counter-offensive that began a few months ago. Last November, the American Chief of Staff, General Mark Milley, reported 100,000 casualties (wounded or killed soldiers) in the ranks of the Ukrainian army and estimated that the situation was similar on the Russian side.

The American daily specifies that it is however difficult to establish human tolls because of the lack of official and reliable information available.
