Hakim Ziyech Signs Three-Year Contract with Galatasaray: Transfer News and Updates

Hakim Ziyech will definitively continue his career at Galatasaray. Algemeen Dagblad reports that the thirty-year-old attacking midfielder will arrive in Turkey on Friday evening to sign a three-year contract. The medical examination, which was carried out in London, went smoothly, according to Sky Sports. It had been known for some time that Ziyech would leave Chelsea, where his contract had another two seasons.

Fabrizio Romano already reported on Wednesday that Chelsea and Galatasaray had reached an agreement on the transfer of Ziyech and the transfer market expert repeated that message on Friday on X, which was previously called Twitter. The paperwork has been completed and Ziyech now only has to sign the multi-year commitment to the Turkish top club. The Morocco international was also mentioned at Paris Saint-Germain, which almost had him in January, but his future therefore lies with Galatasaray. It is not yet known what amount will be deposited for the routine.

Recently, the former Ajax player seemed to be on his way to Al-Nassr, where he was supposed to play together with Cristiano Ronaldo, but that deal fell through at the last minute. Physical discomfort would be the basis for the rejection, although this was denied by the Moroccan international himself. Some time later, the marriage between Chelsea and Ziyech comes to an end, who switched to the West London superpower in 2020 for 40 million euros.

At Chelsea, however, there was no future for Ziyech for a long time. Manager Mauricio Pochettino decided not to take him on a training camp across the United States and did not even assign him a jersey number. It was briefly rumored that Ziyech would be willing to hand in a salary for a return to Ajax, but that has never materialized so far. It is not known whether director of football affairs Sven Mislintat has had contact with (the entourage of) Ziyech.

Striking news Wilfred Genee
“I just got word from a usually reliable source that Hakim Ziyech did not pass the medical examination at Galatasaray,” Wilfred Genee told Today Inside on Wednesday. Analyst Johan Derksen said that ‘maybe he’s lucky’. “That boy may have an injury, but he has played so little that he cannot get injured. He has been on the bench all year.”
