Wallet Liquidation on Venus Protocol Platform, Loss of $53.2 Million Linked to BSC Token Hub Bridge Theft

Linked to the theft of funds from the BSC Token Hub bridge, the wallet faced the liquidation of three positions on the Venus Protocol platform. This was caused by a decrease in the price of BNB below $220, the loss of the attacker amounted to 5.64 million vBNB (~$53.2 million).

The wallet received funds after the incident in October 2022. He affected digital assets worth over $544 million. The hacker managed to withdraw only $100 million.

The mentioned vBNB was used by the attacker to obtain a loan of 30 million USDT.

On August 18, the capitalization of cryptocurrencies fell by 6.5% to $1.1 trillion. BNB price for the last 24 hours dropped by 5%up to $217.7.
