A drone hit a building in Moscow on Friday. The drone also temporarily disrupted air traffic in the Russian capital. The Russians say Ukraine is behind the attack.
The attack took place on the night from Thursday to Friday. The Russian air defense had shot down the drone, but then the unmanned aircraft still crashed into a building in Moscow.
A news agency witness Reuters spoke of “a powerful explosion”. Footage shows workers and emergency workers inspecting the damaged roof.
Air traffic was temporarily halted at four major airports around Moscow. According to the Russian airline, seven flights have been diverted. The Russian defense ministry and the mayor of Moscow say no casualties were reported.
Kyiv has not commented on the drone strike. Ukraine also claimed no responsibility in previous drone attacks on Moscow.
Moscow has been increasingly targeted by drone strikes in recent months. At the end of July there were three drone attacks in a week.
