There are many functions in it that users rarely know about. This includes activating features such as video recording, emergency calling, and scanning documents.

Send an SOS message

Apple allows users to send text messages in case of an emergency when cellular network is available.

There is a dedicated app, but users can send SOS by holding down the power button and any of the volume buttons.

This way, it will create a text to emergency services and all contacts that you label as emergency.

Take videos

This function is activated just like taking a photo. You just need to open the Camera app. Then, switch to video mode and press either volume button to start and finish recording the video.

Scan documents

Many iPhone users may not know that there is a built-in scanner that can be operated using the volume buttons.

Just open the Camera app and press the volume button to take a picture of the document.

This can also be done by selecting Shutter. Then drag the corners to adjust the scan to fit the page, then tap Save Scan

Turn off the alarm

When the alarm sounds, you can long press the notification to select Snooze or Stop the alarm.

You can also press either volume button to snooze the alarm and then ring it again nine minutes later.

Block FaceID or Touch ID

This blocking way to access iPhone functionality could come in handy one day, and Apple has designed it to be a quick change.

Press and hold the side lock button or volume button for two seconds, activate the screen to call emergency services, and once the slider appears, you can press the side button to lock FaceID or Touch ID.
