LG may disappear from the smartphone arena, but when it comes to its range of displays, it really pops! The giant continues to push out interesting smart TVs and displays, and there’s an interesting new concept that might be perfect for travel. Perhaps you are on a trip and want to enjoy your content with a quality panel. LG has developed a new device called StandByMe GO. LG StandByMe Go – an interesting portable TV
The screen neatly comes out of the bag via a small stand. It provides the flexibility to rotate for landscape or portrait display. It can also stand flat, which turns it into a giant tablet platform to play whatever content you desire. For example, you can use a portable monitor for games and other kinds of things. There is only one HDMI port, but given that this is a “mobile TV”, it is very easy to understand why. You can connect your gaming laptop, Steam Deck, or even a smartphone.
LG StandByMe GO has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. You can install NVIDIA GeForce Now or Xbox Cloud Gaming and play games. You just need the right internet and a bluetooth controller. If you’re missing the Internet, you can use GO with Bluetooth, Screen Share, or Apple AirPlay. The TV features an “outdoor brightness control” feature that amplifies peak brightness. One downside to the TV is that it only supports 60Hz refresh rate. Therefore, it is a standard display with an average refresh rate.
The LG StandByMe Go has a battery so that you can easily use it without a power source. LG states that it can be used for about 3 hours. The only missing detail is the weight of the “TV bag”. LG doesn’t list the weight anywhere, but it should be about as heavy as a 27-inch TV, and we also need to consider the battery inside.
The LG StandbyMe GO Portable Touch Screen is available for pre-order on the LG website for $999.99. Each pre-order includes a free LG XBoom 360 Bluetooth Speaker to make the deal even more interesting. Shipments will begin later this month, but the exact date has not yet been revealed.
