The Cultural Foundation, affiliated to the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, announced a program full of musical, theatrical and various performing arts performances during the remaining months of this year.
The season begins its activities with the play “Mayadir” by the Umm Al Quwain National Theater, which tells the story of a group of friends who grew up together in one neighborhood, and after years of estrangement, the friends reunite on a boat trip to restore their old memories and connect the friendship relations between them. The play, written by Ismail Abdullah and directed by Hassan Ragab, will be shown on September 8.
On the 16th of the same month, the artist Boyka will present an enchanting mixture of flamenco, Spanish cobla, jazz and soul music in her first show in the Arab Gulf countries. In “An Evening for the Soul,” the singer presents her music, which is full of the rhythms of the gypsy music she grew up with in Mallorca, Spain.
The show “Cinderella – Ballet for Children” will be presented on October 20 and 21. Legendary composer Sergei Prokofiev composed the score for the performance, and renowned choreographer Viktor Smirnov-Golovanov choreographed the original classical ballet. “Cinderella – Children’s Ballet” by the famous Moscow Ballet will be admired by children and adults alike.
