Jakarta

Wuling responds to the rise of Chinese electric car brands at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show or GIIAS 2023 exhibition. According to Wuling, while the mission is the same, namely to achieve green energythen he welcomed their presence in the country.

It is known, there are a number of newcomers from China who carry out brand and brand introductions at the annual exhibition. For example, like Neta, Maxus, Seres and Great Wall Motor (GWM).

Dian Asmahani as the Marketing Director of PT Wuling Motors Indonesia emphasized that the emergence of a new electric car brand could have an impact on accelerating electrification in the country. That is why, as ‘old players’, his party welcomed their emergence.

“The point is the objective is the same, we want electric cars to be more accessible for consumers in Indonesia. So the government’s target of accelerating electrification can be achieved and green mobility can be implemented in Indonesia,” said Dian Asmahani at ICE BSD, South Tangerang.

“So if there are other players who have the same goal, yes, we welcome it together,” he added.

However, Wuling does not just sit idly by watching new brands emerge in Indonesia. According to Dian, her party has prepared a number of strategies to win the market, including presenting innovative and competitive new products.

“Our strategy is to exist more clearly, there are three things, product, service and experience. The product must be innovative, we have 150 service dealers in Indonesia and we provide an excellent experience for drivers,” he said.

Wuling can be said to have opened the gate for other Chinese brands to enter Indonesia. They first started their business adventure in Indonesia in July 2017.

After that, one by one other Chinese brands also entered Indonesia. Starting from DFSK which appeared several months after Wuling, then followed by MG Motors, Neta, Maxus and GWM. In fact, there are still a number of names ready to make their debut in the country.
