Cristiano Ronaldo is not only a phenomenon on the pitch, but also online. The Portuguese footballer has reached the remarkable mark of 600 million followers on Instagram earlier this month. This means he has a much bigger presence on the social media platform than the likes of Lionel Messi, Selena Gomez, Kylie Jenner and Dwayne Johnson.

This achievement is all the more striking when compared to the figure of his former Real Madrid team-mate Sergio Ramos, who recently celebrated reaching the 60 millions de followers on Instagram.
The Spaniard shared a photo of himself signing football boots, along with the caption: “We started in 2014 and, although it seems impossible, we are now 60 million followers. To celebrate this and give back some of the love you all give me, I’ve prepared a great contest for you: a raffle of 20 pairs of signed Mizuno shoes.”
That’s when Cristiano Ronaldo took the opportunity to tease his former teammate. In response to Ramos’ post celebrating his 60 million subscribers, Ronaldo wrote with a smirk: “You need a zero to catch me“, accompanied by a laughing emoji.
Fans obviously loved this little spade, as evidenced by the impressive number of more than 100,000 “likes” accumulated by his comment.
The troll between the two former Real Madrid players with Sergio Ramos’ epic response to Cristiano Ronaldo’s comment. “Don’t be too confident Cris… Specialist in remounts. 93rd minute and more hahaha. At the same time, do not forget to participate, you must use #SR60“
In a twist of fate, Ramos may well have the opportunity to reunite with Ronaldo on the pitch. Indeed, rumors evoke a possible spectacular transfer of the Spaniard to the club of Al Nassr.
Currently free of any contract after the end of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, Ramos could thus continue his career in Saudi Arabia. After two seasons in France, during which he played 58 games and scored six goals, he could therefore add new experience to his rich record.
