Over the last few years many things have changed at the level of the banks, scattered throughout the Italian territory.
One of the most dramatic changes that we can surely remember consists in the progressive closure of ATMs, which are drastically decreasing in number throughout Italy, especially in the south. This is largely due to the strength of electronic payment systemsrepresented respectively by credit cards and give it debit cardsclearly to the detriment of cash and due withdrawals from ATMs.
This has obviously led to many problems for the population in general, with a greater focus on the elderly, who are generally not very accustomed to using electronic payment systems. In doing so, they find themselves having to travel tens and tens of kilometers to reach the nearest ATM, and thus withdraw money in cash.
A new bank is coming
It is clear that this progressive closure of the branches has led to considerable inconvenience, since until now customers were almost accustomed to human contact, in case they had problems with their current account.
Precisely in light of this, Intesa Sanpaolo has decided to launch Isybank, i.e. a digital bank that responds to all customer needs in terms of physical assistance. Isybank was presented a few days ago, and has its physical headquarters inside the Gioia 22 skyscraper, which also houses the remaining divisions of Intesa Sanpaolo. Isybank is part of one of the many objectives belonging to the Business Plan for the three-year period 2022-2025given that Intesa Sanpaolo had for some time been intending to create a division dedicated to digital.

The plans of the future
The new division will focus in particular on all 4 million users of the Intesa Sanpaolo bank who are readily dedicated to digital and mobile banking, which has been the reality of many banks for years now. Thanks to a convenient app, and through the use of one’s credentials, it is in fact possible to comfortably manage one’s current account, check the balance, send transfers, pay taxes and so on.
To speak in this regard was Stephen Barreseor the head of the Banca dei Territori division, who declared that the world ofhome banking and information technology has made great strides in recent years, experiencing truly exponential growth from year to year. At this point we just have to wait for updates from Intesa San Paolo and Isybank, which we are sure will not be long in coming over the next few weeks.
