Samsung says it’s not just a standard crop but an optimized zoom mode.
Camera Assistant with version 1.1.03.1 can be downloaded from Samsung’s own Galaxy Store and the company advertises it as Optical Quality Crop Zoom.
The Korean tech giant explained that this new feature works as a cut at the sensor level by using the main camera.
In reality, quality should be similar with dedicated 3x and 10x telephoto cameras.
To get this feature, users need to install the latest Samsung update that brings the August 2023 security patch in addition to the new version of the Camera Assistant app.
