Chairman of MPP PPP Romahurmuziy (Rommy) alluded to the declaration of PAN and Golkar supporting Ketum Gerindra Prabowo Subianto to become a presidential candidate in 2024. Rommy said the declaration had a good impact on increasing the number of volunteers or volunteers to support the PDIP presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo.
This was conveyed by Rommy in the Collaborative Perspective Adu event detikcom with Total Politics, Wednesday (16/8/2023) evening. Rommy said that his party did not want to explore the intent of forming a coalition of Gerindra, PKB, PAN and Golkar.
“So in short, with yesterday’s latest developments, we, in Ganjar’s coalition team, who will be the vice presidential candidate, we don’t need to trace too much what the intention of forming this final coalition is,” Rommy said.
Rommy added that his party would also not make a fuss about where President Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi) support was directed after the PAN and Golkar declarations. He said his coalition wanted to shift its focus to winning the election.
“Or where is Mr. Jokowi actually going, as has been fussed over in recent weeks ‘is it still Ganjar or has it been? Prabowoor what percentage is Ganjar, what percentage is Prabowo’, it’s not necessary,” he explained.
PPP is known to have expressed its support for Ganjar Pranowo. Rommy said the coalition supporting Ganjar had no problem with the declaration. He then explained the direction of the Ketum PDIP Megawati Soekarnoputri.
“Because we are running out of energy for it. So we have to reinforce what Mrs. Mega said yesterday when the declaration was made, how do we form a coalition with the people, get down to the grassroots,” he said.

Furthermore, Rommy said volunteers had increased after the PAN and Golkar declarations supported Prabowo. He said the volunteers wanted to go directly to the field.
“Right now, because of yesterday’s incident, there is a lot of voluntarism right away, people who were just mediocre, ‘I’m going to do this, I’m going down, I’m contributing’,” he explained.
He added that the declaration also had a good impact on the coalition supporting Ganjar. Rommy said that the person who used to be ignorant wanted to support Ganjar and took to the field.
“Now, in the last 2 days the impact has been very good. People who were ignorant, ‘ok, it’s backed up, it’s already close to the center’ is like that, then it turns out ‘well, if this is how we have to go down, bro, if I do this donate,’, in the end it turned out good,” he said.
