His Excellency Al-Zeyoudi’s attendance at the presidential inauguration ceremony and taking the constitutional oath is a translation of the depth of relations between the UAE and Paraguay, and the joint keenness to elevate them to new levels that benefit the two sides, as non-oil intra-trade witnessed a record growth in 2022, to record $57.3 million, with a growth of 53.3 percent compared to 2021, an increase of 122 percent compared to 2020. During multiple official visits in the past months, the two sides worked to further accelerate the flow of clear trade during the next stage.
His Excellency Dr. Thani Al-Zeyoudi, during an official meeting with His Excellency Santiago Peña, the new President of the Republic of Paraguay, and His Excellency Ruben Ramirez Lizcano, Minister of Foreign Affairs, praised the strong bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, stressing the UAE’s keenness to enhance trade and investment cooperation in sectors of common interest, with a focus on Renewable energy, mining, banking and food security.
The meeting took place in the presence of His Excellency Saeed Abdullah Al Qamzi, UAE Ambassador to the Argentine Republic and Non-Resident Ambassador to the Republic of Paraguay.
Al-Zeyoudi also met, during the visit, His Excellency Javier Jimenez, the new Minister of Trade of Paraguay, and they discussed ways to stimulate non-oil intra-trade.
His Excellency also held talks with Sergio Diaz Granados, CEO of the Development Bank for Latin America and the Caribbean, to enhance cooperation in the field of investment in infrastructure, exchange of knowledge and experience, and capacity building in areas of common interest.
