In the final third round of qualifying for the basketball tournament in the framework of the Olympic Games-2024, the Ukrainian team failed to defeat the Turkish team. The fight, which took place in Istanbul, ended in favor of the hosts with a score of 85:72.
Although the beginning of the match was held in an equal fight on the court between the basketball players of both teams, but then the Turks seized the advantage. The first quarter ended with a score parity – 25:25, but already the second and third showed the dominance of the Turkish team. She won them with a score of 24:16 and 21:14. Only in the last quarter, the Ukrainian team managed to slightly reduce the gap from the opponent and win the 15-minute period with a score of 17:15.
The Ukrainian national team, which took 2nd place in its group, will play its duel within the 1/2 stage of the playoff qualification for the Olympic Games 2024 this Friday, August 18. It is not yet known exactly who will be her opponent – the most likely option is the Croatian team, which has not yet played its final 3rd round in the group against the Netherlands.
We remind you that out of 3 rounds of the group stage, the Ukrainian team lost only 1. It won the remaining 2 matches against the teams of Bulgaria and Iceland.
