Microsoft Abandons Cortana for Windows Copilot: Windows 11 Updates and What to Expect

Back in May, Microsoft announced the abandonment of the Cortana assistant in favor of Windows Copilot, which will be an advanced, AI-powered assistant. Well, you can already see that with the latest Windows 11 updates, Cortana is starting to disappear.

The new Copilot assistant will include help with Windows issues, and Copilot will work with Spotify to recommend new songs. Copilot will be able to collect the information in the document and will even be able to send an email or a Teams message with the user’s command. Copilot will be able to do the same thing that you can currently enjoy with Bing Chat – Copilot will be able to answer simple and even complex questions. For now, Cortana will be available in mobile versions of the Outlook email client.

Interestingly, Cortana wasn’t just on Windows PCs and Microsoft apps. Cortana was present, for example, in the Harman Kardon Invoke speaker. Owners of the speaker were offered a $50 gift card from Microsoft to compensate for the assistant’s disappearance.
