Angelina Jolie has asked her 15-year-old daughter Vivienne to help her produce the musical The Outsiders. She wants to teach her daughter more about the theater world.
“Vivienne reminds me of my mother,” Jolie says E!News. “She doesn’t want to be in the spotlight, but rather help other people from the creative profession.”
Jolie’s mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who died in 2007, started her career as an actress. In the 1980s, she decided to go into production.
“My daughter would like to work in the theater world and learn how she can best contribute,” says Jolie. It is not yet known what exactly Vivienne will do. The daughter of Jolie and Brad Pitt previously played a role in Jolie’s film Maleficent.
Last week it was announced that Jolie will be working as the main producer of a musical adaptation of the book The Outsiders from SE Hinton. Francis Ford Coppola also turned it into a movie in 1983. The musical will be shown on Broadway in New York.
The story is about two gangs in a small town in the US state of Oklahoma in 1964. The rivalry between the groups reaches a climax when one of the gang members kills a member of the other group.
