Jakarta –
Bayern Munich Reportedly eyeing Manchester City keeper Stefan Ortega. Pep Guardiola emphasized that the goalkeeper should not go!
Bayern are short on goalkeepers after releasing Yann Sommer to Inter Milan this month. So far the only goalkeeper left is Sven Ulreich, who is 35 years old.
There is also young goalkeeper Tom Hulsmann, who is still 19 years old. Bayern inevitably have to look for another goalkeeper while waiting for Manuel Neuer to recover.
Die Roten previously targeted Kepa Arrizabalaga, but Real Madrid took over. Bayern’s option is currently reported to have fallen to Ortega, who is Man City’s second goalkeeper.
The 30-year-old goalkeeper is also from Germany and has had enough of the ins and outs of the Bundesliga. This will make it difficult for Ortega to adapt to the playing style of teams from Germany.
Bayern’s move to get Ortega doesn’t look like it will be easy. Guardiola as the manager of The Citizens did not want to let his players leave.
“We don’t want to sell him and we don’t want to loan him. Sorry, but we have wanted him for a long time,” Guardiola was quoted as saying by AS.
“It always depends on three parties, yes, but we have to be back on the market to find a replacement in two weeks… we want Ortega,” he said.
