Between 03:30 and 04:00 this Tuesday, August 15, three businesses located on Trinitaria Island, south of Guayaquil, were attacked with explosives.
The premises are located between the cooperatives 22 de Abril and the Fuerza de los Pobres.
A hardware store that has been operating for 14 years on the perimeter road was one of the most affected businesses. The façade was quite damaged, as well as the roller door, the showcases and some products that were left on the floor.

The business owner said that a minor of about 13 years old arrived last Friday and left him the paper with a phone number that he told him he had to call.
The man did not call and this Tuesday he woke up to the detonation in his business.
The victim indicated that he was not going to pay the extortionists, that he would make arrangements in his business and continue working.
“I estimate that about $3,000 must be spent on repairs,” said the owner of the hardware store.
Two blocks from there is the De Costa y Sierra store. There, too, an explosive detonated before 04:00.
Although it did not cause as much damage as in the hardware store, there the ‘vaccinators’ (extortionists) left a second pamphlet signed by Los Silenciosos. In that paper they said they will keep attacking until they pay.
The owner of the premises is not willing to pay either. He mentioned that a nearby store already closed a month ago after it was also planted with an explosive.
“The neighbor left with his family and closed his business, but I am not going to leave or pay them anything because they have not given me money to save. Here we kill ourselves first,” the man stressed.
In another store near the estuary they also placed an explosive device this morning, although the owners have not commented.

None of the three affected have denounced the attacks at the Prosecutor’s Office. This makes the work of the agents of the Anti-Kidnapping and Extortion Unit (Unase) of the Police complex, who on Tuesday captured two subjects for extortion of the ‘vaccine’ type.
The apprehension took place in the La Saiba citadel, in the south of the city.
The two suspects, ages 19 and 23, allegedly demanded $100,000 from a man so as not to attack his family. (YO)
