An Airbus A320 from Easyjet made a precautionary landing at Schiphol on Monday evening. The device was met by emergency services. According to an airport spokesman, the plane, which had departed from Milan, had technical problems.
A spokesman for Air Traffic Control the Netherlands tells NH that the Airbus landed on the Zwanenburgbaan ‘less than half an hour ago’. “The pilot had indicated that emergency services might need to get to the runway.”
It is standard procedure that this is handled on a different runway, so that emergency services can access it properly and all traffic is not inconvenienced, the spokesperson said.
Landed safely
A Schiphol spokesman said that the aircraft has landed safely and is now at the gate, where passengers are currently leaving the Airbus.
