Soon, unmanned tractors will start running between Moscow and St. Petersburg, carrying various cargoes on behalf of the “Magnit” trade network.
Unmanned tractors with a 22-ton semi-trailer will run along the M-11 Neva highway, initially making only two trips a day – from Moscow to St. Petersburg and back, Motor.ru writes.
The project has been created in cooperation with the heavy machinery manufacturer Kamaz and is implemented as follows – a Magnit truck transports a semi-trailer loaded with goods to the highway, where a change of tractors takes place, and a Kamaz unmanned loader goes on the road with it. It will move in autonomous mode, but under the supervision of the driver and operator.
