Pediatric surgeons at the Maternity and Children Hospital in Buraidah, Saudi Arabia, succeeded in saving a 10-year-old boy who accidentally swallowed a sharp object (pin) while playing with it in his mouth.
And the Qassim Health Assembly stated, in a statement reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) yesterday, that the child’s parents, after learning that he had swallowed the pin, quickly transferred him to Al-Rass Hospital before his condition worsened and the sharp object caused him harm and resulted in complications that lead to health problems or wounds and stomach bleeding. Who, in turn, referred him to the Maternity and Children Hospital in Buraydah.
The x-ray results showed that the sharp body was in the stomach, and it was immediately removed from the inner wall of the stomach within 20 minutes without any complications, after which the child left the hospital in good health.
