Ministry of Youth and Sports Rejects Zamalek Club’s Request for Extraordinary General Assembly

Monday 14/August/2023 – 05:13 PM

The Ministry of Youth and Sports rejected the invitation that was made by Zamalek club officials to hold an extraordinary general assembly, to approve a club-specific regulation, which will be implemented during the coming period, instead of the unified guiding regulation.

Cairo 24 learned from its sources that the ministry’s decision to refuse to hold the extraordinary general assembly, which was scheduled for the eighteenth of this month, came because of the failure to complete the legal procedures for inviting members of the general assembly.

Mortada Mansour had announced earlier that an extraordinary general assembly would be held for members of the Zamalek club, to approve the regulations for the Zamalek club.

Mortada Mansour to Cairo 24: We nominated Amir Mortada for membership in the League of Clubs

Mortada Mansour confirmed that Zamalek Club addressed the Football Association to nominate Amir Mortada Mansour, general supervisor of football at Zamalek Club, for the Professional Clubs Association.

Mortada Mansour said in statements to Cairo 24: “Indeed, we sent Amir Mortada’s name to the Football Association to be present in the Clubs League for the new season, but he refused to run.”

And he continued, “We are trying to convince Amir Mortada to agree to run in the Club Association elections at the present time.”
