King Salman Invites Iranian President for Official Visit to Riyadh

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, on Monday, that the Saudi monarch, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, “has extended an official invitation to Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi to visit Riyadh, and made it clear that” the date for the visit has not yet been determined, “according to What was reported by the Iranian news agency (IRNA).

“It is possible that the Iranian president will visit Saudi Arabia, after receiving an official invitation from the Saudi monarch, but the date for this visit has not been set,” according to (IRNA).

The spokesman added, “Relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran are progressing step by step, and this visit will be planned at the appropriate time, within the framework of the political will of the two countries.”

Nasser Kanani confirmed that Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, “will visit Saudi Arabia soon,” explaining that his agenda during that visit “includes discussion of various issues, regional, international and economic issues,” according to IRNA.

On March 10, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Iran, under the auspices of Beijing, agreed to resume bilateral relations, and to reopen the two embassies and diplomatic missions within a maximum period of two months, according to what was reported at the time by official Saudi and Iranian media.
