Lifeguards on duty at the beach of Lake Sevan noticed that a person swimming 25 meters from the shore was missing
The acting ambassador of Ukraine to Armenia drowned in Lake Sevan, the UNIAN agency reported, referring to information on the official page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
“It is with deep sorrow that we announce the tragic death on August 13, 2023 of the experienced and highly qualified diplomat, Acting Ambassador of Ukraine to Armenia, Oleksandr Anatolyevich Senchenko,” the statement said. Earlier, Armenian media reported the death of a man in Lake Sevan, citing the local rescue service.
A man drowned in Shable Lake
She informed that on August 13, at 20:17 local time, lifeguards on duty on the beach of Lake Sevan noticed that a person swimming 25 meters from the shore was missing. “The rescuers came to the rescue and pulled the man out of the water. The emergency team that arrived on the spot confirmed his death,” reads the information in the Armenian media.
Senchenko started working in the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2003, having held various positions in the structure of the First and Sixth Territorial Administrations, the Department of Euro-Atlantic Cooperation and New Challenges, in the Minister’s Office, as well as in the diplomatic missions of Ukraine in Russia , Azerbaijan and Armenia.
