Krisjanis Karins will submit an application to President Edgars Rinkevics. He called on the New Unity party to nominate a new candidate for prime minister.
Prime Minister of Latvia Krisjanis Karins announced his resignation. He announced this on Twitter on Monday, August 14.
According to him, this decision was made because of the crisis in the government coalition.
“I … will submit my resignation to the president (Edgars Rinkevichs, -.) on Thursday (August 17, -). I called on the party to nominate a new candidate for prime minister,” he wrote.
