Certain household chores will help to avoid a serious illness.
There is a risk
Alzheimer’s disease affects most older people. Doctors have not yet found the ideal treatment. But, scientists have conducted a new study in which they found that even ordinary, modest tasks, such as gardening, cooking and washing dishes, can reduce the risk of disease if they are performed often enough.
The study involved 716 men and women, aged 70 to 80, who did not suffer from dementia. It turned out that those who led the most active lifestyle, the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease is more than twice as low.
“People at a sufficiently old age cannot engage in formal physical exercise, but still benefit from leading a more active lifestyle,” says Petr Romanov, associate professor of neurological sciences.
Old age is afraid of homework
In order not to become a burden to your loved ones, you should not run to the gym, you can walk up the stairs, several steps at a time, wash dishes not in a dishwasher, and much more.
It has been scientifically proven that older people who spend more time at home have a larger brain size – this is a reliable indicator of cognitive health, the expert said.
