Wallenius Wilhelmsen Reports Strong Q2 Earnings and Revenue Growth

The liner company Wallenius Wilhelmsen publishes and presents its accounts for the second quarter on Tuesday morning. In advance, analysts expect that it will report an operating result before depreciation and amortization (ebitda) of 426 million dollars, reports TDN Direkt.

In comparison, Wallenius Wilhelmsen achieved an ebitda result of 311 million dollars in the second quarter of last year.

The figure TDN Direkt refers to is the average of estimates Infront has collected for the news agency from four analysts. This points towards earnings growth of 37 per cent for the shipping company.

Income growth of 10 percent

Analyst estimates further point to revenues of 1,316 million dollars for Wallenius Wilhelmsen in the second quarter. The corresponding figure in the second quarter of 2022 was 1,190 million.

The ordinary operating result is expected to be 280 million dollars, up from 187 million dollars a year ago.

The result before tax is expected to increase from 130 to 217 million dollars, and the result after tax is expected to increase from 105 to 169 million dollars. In that case, it gives a result per share at $0.40.

Course objectives vary

Three analysts also give recommendations for the Wallenius Wilhelmsen share, according to TDN Direkt. Two of them recommend buying the car carrier share, while one has a “hold” recommendation.

The average price target among the analysts is NOK 104, but there are wide gaps, as the price targets vary between NOK 70 and 154.

Nordea Markets is among the brokers that have provided estimates in TDN Direkt’s compilation. The brokerage house, through analyst Erik Hovi, reiterated a buy recommendation and a price target of NOK 135 before the weekend.

On Friday, the Wallenius Wilhelmsen share ended at NOK 73.05, after a price decline of 25 per cent so far this year.
