Five Years After The Stint: A Documentary on the Tragic Accident in Oss and the Amazing Resilience of the Parents

RTL 4 will broadcast a documentary on Sunday about the fatal accident with a Stint in Oss. Four children died in 2018. In Five Years After The Stint: The Story Of The Parents Humberto Tan speaks with relatives.

The accident took place in the morning of September 20, 2018. At a railway crossing at Oss West station, a pink Stint with five children and a female driver on the back shot under the railway barriers, while a train was just approaching.

Four children died. A child and the driver were injured. Two of the children killed and the injured child were from one family.

In the documentary Tan speaks with the parents of the deceased children. “The conversations have made an intense impression on me,” says the presenter. “Their resilience, just five years after the accident, is beyond admirable. As a result, this document is not only a story of grief and loss, but also a story of hope and strength.”

The now sixteen-year-old girl who survived the accident talks about the impact of this for the first time in the documentary.

Also RTL Newsreporter Eelco Hiltermann participates in the documentary. He was on site in Oss in 2018. “As a reporter you go from hot to here and you come into contact with the most diverse subjects,” says Hiltermann. “But no subject has made such an impression on me as the accident in Oss.”
