The electric Ford Explorer crossover will reach customers later than expected, that is, the automaker is postponing the launch of this model until next summer. A German newspaper informs about it Cologne review, citing his sources at the Ford plant in Cologne. The original plan was to slowly start production of the machine and start delivering it early next year.
Ford informed factory workers in Cologne about the change in plans last week. The manufacturer explains that this is related to new, international safety regulations for car power units, but it is not widely known exactly what these new regulations are.
The electric Explorer was created in collaboration with Volkswagen and is built on the German automaker’s electric MEB platform. When it goes into production, the Explorer will be the first electric Ford to be built at the Cologne plant. You can read more about the car here.
