In addition to the Perseid, it is possible to observe a number of different meteorological phenomena and events in the sky during the year. Some of them are regular and you can expect them at certain times, while others are less frequent.
Lunar and Solar Eclipses
Lunar and solar eclipses are dramatic phenomena when the Moon or the Sun find themselves in the Earth’s shadow. A lunar eclipse can be seen from all over the world, while a solar eclipse is only visible in certain places on Earth and requires protective equipment to observe.
Supermoon
A supermoon is a phenomenon when the moon is closer to Earth in its orbit and appears larger and brighter. This happens at regular intervals and is an attractive sight for both amateur and professional observers.
Aurora
An aurora is a light phenomenon caused by the interaction of the solar wind with the Earth’s magnetic field. The northern lights (aurora borealis) and southern lights (aurora australis) are brilliant green, pink or purple veils that can be seen near the poles. Sometimes, however, the aurora borealis is also visible in the Czech Republic.
Animal bend
Parhelium is an optical phenomenon where one or more bright spots appear around the Sun. These spots are created by the bending of light in air containing ice crystals or water particles.
A halo around the Sun or Moon
A halo is an optical phenomenon where a colored circle or circular spot appears around the Sun or Moon. This phenomenon is caused by the scattering of light on ice crystals in the air.
Meteory a bolidy
In addition to the Perseids, you can also observe other meteor showers and occasional bolides during the year – luminous balls that fly quickly through the atmosphere and can shine like the moon.
Sunset and sunrise
Every day you can look forward to beautiful sunsets and breathtaking sunrises.
Planets
Various planets visible to the naked eye can also be observed during the year. Planets like Jupiter, Saturn, Mars and Venus can be beautifully visible in the sky.
